Summary of Environmental Assessment Process
- Project Description:
The
proponent proposes a five year forest operating plan for District 7 that
outlines timber harvest plans, silviculture treatments and primary road
locations. The planning area encompasses approximately 188,000 ha of
productive forest stands within an area of approximately 1.2 million ha.
The targeted stands are generally over-mature stands of black spruce and
white birch. 23.5 km of new roads will be constructed and 40.4 km of
existing roads will be reconstructed.

registered.

Public comments are due.
- October 29, 2007
- The Minister's decision is due.
- January 31, 2008 - The Minister announced the project
has been released from further environmental assessment review subject to
conditions.
