Policy and Planning Division

Responsibilities

The Policy and Planning Division provides the design and implementation of a program of research and analysis pertaining to policy and program issues across the Department. The Division is responsible for fulfillment of the Department’s planning and reporting requirements under the Transparency and Accountability Act. This includes development of the departmental strategic plan, which outlines the Department’s strategic issues and goals for a three year period, as well as annual performance reports, which report on the progress made toward achieving these goals. The Division also assists in the planning and reporting processes of the government entities for which the Minister is responsible. The Division is also responsible for the implementation of programs related to Climate Change and the administration and reporting related to the Newfoundland and Labrador Green Fund.

Services

The Division provides Ministerial support on environmental policy. We provide funding assistance for Individuals and Environmental Non-Governmental Organizations (ENGO’s) with funding for climate change related projects on a case by case basis.
