Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes the construction of an all terrain vehicle (ATV) and snowmobile trail to access cabins and the Burin Peninsula Highway Super Trail. The trail is proposed to be constructed from Terrenceville to Southern Hills Pond, east to Beaver Ride, and end at Route 210 near Gull Pond. The trail will be approximately 16 kilometres in length and a maximum of four metres wide. Construction of the trail is to include manual labour and may include the use of an excavator and is expected start in the summer upon receipt of required permits.

• March 2, 2011 - The undertaking was registered.
• April 7, 2011 - Public comments are due.
• April 14, 2011 - The Minister's decision is due.
• May 12, 2011 - The Minister announced that the project is released.
