Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal to construct a 557 square metre building on crown land along the Bay Bulls waste disposal site access road. This new facility will allow GFI Composites Ltd. to manufacture acrylic tub and showers for the residential housing market. Excess raw materials such as resin, gel-coat and solvents will not be stored on site, rather delivered from a wholesaler as required. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2012.

  • February 7, 2012 - The undertaking was registered.
  • March 14, 2012 - Public comments are due.
  • March 23, 2012 - The Minister's decision is due.
  • April 19, 2012 - The Minister announced that the project is released.
