Divisional Mission Statement

A central service group to government and the public which coordinates the provincial geomatics strategy and facilitates integration of geo-spatial data by providing standard services in: topographic mapping; geodesy; aerial photography; and geographical names.

The Surveys and Mapping Division has five core programs:

• Topographic Mapping - Provides standard digital base mapping
• Geodetic Surveys - Maintains network of markers and GPS reference systems
• Aerial photography - Coordinates procurement, maintains repository and reproductions
• Geographical Names - Administers authorization and records
• Geomatic Strategy - Provincial coordination and standards
