Project Summary:

The Environmental Education Centre is a volunteer based non-profit group concerned with providing environmental education opportunities to school children in partnership with the Eastern School Board. Their main facility is located in Deer Park on the Avalon Peninsula. It is governed by a board of directors known as The Environmental Education Commission. The Commission applied to the NL Green Fund to install a wind powered energy system to replace diesel electricity generation currently used at the site. It will replace 100% of its generating needs, completely eliminating their diesel fuel costs and GHG emissions. It will also eliminate the noise and other air pollution that is associated with diesel generation. They will use the systems as an educational opportunity for school children.
