Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) is a program which assists women to become more confident in outdoor pursuits and more aware of our natural environment. The goal of the BOW workshop is to provide women an opportunity to learn skills that will enhance and encourage them to participate in fishing, hunting and other forms of outdoor recreation.
Designed primarily for women 18 years of age or older, Becoming an Outdoors-Woman focuses on activities such as canoeing, kayaking, rifle, shotgun, outdoor survival, map and compass, birding, spirituality & nature, and fishing, to name a few.
This workshop gives women a chance to try outdoor activities they may have wanted to try but did not know where to get instruction. Participants learn and improve their outdoor skills through the guidance of experienced and enthusiastic instructors in a non-threatening, comfortable atmosphere.
All classes are at an introductory level for people who have little or no experience. All equipment is provided. Enrollment is limited. Register early for best selection of courses. The program will go ahead, whatever the weather. Each participant will receive a confirmation letter, a list of what to bring, and directions to the camp two to three weeks prior to the workshop.
The next BOW workshop will be held at Lavrock Camp and Conference Centre, Salmonier Line, during the weekend of June 7-9, 2013.
