The "Water Resources Atlas of Newfoundland" was released in 1992 as hard cover publication with over 80 large format pages.
The Atlas is a source of general information on water resources in the province as well as a reference in the preliminary planning and design stages of water resource projects.
The Atlas is now available as PDF publication that can be viewed or downloaded using the links below.
The Water Resources Atlas is being updated on on-going basis and updated layers are available via the Newfoundland and Labrador Water Resources Portal.
The Atlas describes the physiography, geology, climatology, hydrology, water quality, groundwater and water uses of the province. The hydrology section gives information on: drainage basins, river gauges, major lakes, reservoirs, river ice, flood zones, as well as maximum, minimum, mean, monthly and annual streamflows.
The Atlas also includes 32 summary maps accompanied by supporting text, illustrations and photographs. References and a glossary are also included.
